This is the third in a series of drills focused on teaching the 2 Post Offense. The previous drill in this series is Denied Reversal Down Screen 3v0 Drill.

The focus in this drill is on reinforcing the shallow cut off of ball reversal and setting a down screen if ball reversal is unavailable. It also introduces live defense to the progression.

Coaching Emphasis

  • Coming to the basketball when stepping to a pass on the perimeter. (Go through the ball - not to it.)
  • Teaching the Slip Screen - recognizing when to slip if a defender is switching/overplaying.
  • Offensive players need to bring their man down to set them up to use a Down Screen.
  • Screeners getting set and taking proper angles.
